Tablet mode is a new feature that should automatically activate (if you want it to) when you detach a tablet from its base or dock. The Start menu then goes full screen as do Windows Store apps and Settings.

Continuum is Microsoft's fancy new way of switching between tablet and desktop mode in Windows 10 as and when the need arises, but what if you want to play around with tablet mode on your desktop PC? Tablet mode will basically go full screen full time, removing windowed apps and turning the Start menu into the Start screen. To turn it on or off, follow these easy steps.

If you want to do it the short, quick way, there should be a toggle by default in the Action Center in the bottom right hand corner of the desktop. Just click it on or off when you want to go into and out of tablet mode.

The other, more long winded way to find it is:

• Click or tap the Start button
• Open the Settings application
• Click or tap on "System"
• In the pane on the left of the screen scroll all the way to the bottom until you see "Tablet Mode"
• Ensure the toggle is set to either on or off to your preference.

Simple. But the great thing is it gives everyone a chance to play around with tablet mode without the need to install it on a tablet.

Remember, in tablet mode, the desktop won’t be available though you will be able to still access the desktop folder through File Explorer. Otherwise you can use your computer and all its applications as you normally would.

The advantage to tablet mode will obviously be that it’s far more appropriate to touchscreens because of all the big targets it provides for our fat fingers. The one big caveat for most people may still be the fact that you’re dealing with the Start screen as the primary interface, though it does retain enough desktop elements that it will hopefully not be too confusing for most users.

It’s not your regular alt+tab in windows, it is more powerful and will provide you a clean desktop to work with, keeping your old data, opened apps, software in another works pace. It’s cool and productive at the same time.

Windows 10 brings multiple desktop feature! Or, in other words, it can be called an alternative of “Workspace Switcher” .

You see that black square box with a “+” symbol at the center . Hit that to create a new workspace. It will be like a new clean desktop, and your opened data and apps will be pushed to an old workspace and obviously you can switch back and forth.

4. Improved Multitasking and Command prompt

Windows 10 will introduce a quadrant layout allowing up to four apps to be snapped on the same screen. The OS will even make smart suggestions to fill available screen space. You’ll be able to cycle through open apps using the familiar Alt + Tab shortcut, but there is also a Task View button on the taskbar. Pressing this button will show all open apps, allow you to rearrange them and switch between virtual desktops.

Power users and command line geeks will rejoice, as copy and paste will be enabled in Windows 10’s Command Prompt.

1. All apps

There is a slight change in the way you access programs (which is similar to Windows 7) Windows 10 Start Menu. At the bottom of the Start Menu, is the All Apps tab that brings up a list of everything installed on your computer for wash and quick access.

2. On the tiles

You can now pin the app’s icon to the Start menu as a tile. The Start Menu can be customized by resizing and moving the tiles around. To bring up a drop-drop menu, right click on one. You can here switch live tiles off or on, resize them and more.

3. Resizing pinned apps

You can resize a tile to make it smaller. Only apps downloaded from the Windows Store provide more resizing options, while other programs only have the option to go from medium to small. You can drag the tiles into the order as per your convenience.

4. Group and title

You can also organize tiles into groups. For instance, the groups can be renamed into categories. All you need to do is to move your cursor just above each column group and left-click once. This will allow you to type a name for the group.

5. Pin an app to the start menu

We will start by adding programs to the new Start menu. If you have the knowledge of how to add the Start Menu in Windows 7, then you have to exactly follow the same procedure here. Search for the app you wish to add, right-click it and choose ‘Pin to Start’.

6. Resize the entire menu

You can resize the Start Menu, if you feel that it is a little too big. All you need to do is move the mouse to the edge of the Start menu and left-click. You can now hold to drag and resize the Start Menu to the size you want.

7. Enabling Tablet mode

The desktop-like interface may not be right for you, if you have a 2-in-1 tablet. If you want to go back to a style more similar to Windows 8, click Settings from the Start menu, then go to ‘System’ and switch on ‘Tablet Mode’

8. Classic Windows 8 mode

Microsoft has the Tile menu covered in the new operating system like Windows 8. Just click the diagonal arrow in the top right-hand corner of the Start Menu. This will expand the Start Menu across the screen from now on.
